Majo's Artwork
Manoj came to Salaam Baalak Trust Mumbai an NGO for children in street situations as a young lad of 12 years. He always had an interest in art, when he did not have the means on the streets of Mumbai to draw he would borrow extra pages and pencils from other children and sometimes he used the streets as his canvas.
Once at the shelter of the NGO his basic requirements were fulfilled and his potential in art recognized. He was encouraged to educate himself and draw as this also helped him release his feelings and clear his head.
Today as a confident young man of 23, he is pursuing his dream of becoming an architect, with full support from Salaam Baalak Trust.
Manoj hasn’t given up his love for drawing, which he continues during his free time.
During the COVID-19 lockdown he has encouraged other younger boys to draw at the shelter and is guiding them with different techniques.
He has also just started teaching the basics of drawing with his recently launched YouTube channel called "ABCD WITH MANOJ".
